Coming from a home country Nigeria, where patriotism is divided into ethnic pockets, Nigerians in America appreciate the joy and beauty of unitedness and togetherness that produced this great nation, USA. As highly individualistic people, Nigerians in America also, deeply value the concept of Liberty and Freedom that the United States of America advances, patriotism becomes easy among them.
Nigerians in America are highly educated, dependable and very competent professionals, dispersed in all walks of life in the United States of America. They are devout, spiritual, have good morals, have high cultural values and lead their lives in high integrity. They love their community, they uplift their community, they develop their community and they love their country. They love life, believe in glamour and are upbeat but, very respectful, loyal and relate with others in dignity. Nigerians in the USA are happy people, they have intrinsic passion to succeed in whatever they do. They are generally eloquent, great speakers and presenters, dutiful family people, financially stable, responsible and rational.
However, in the USA, the constant negative media reports on Nigeria and Nigerians obscures these desirable population from being discovered as to be positively mobilized into and utilized in American body polity. It appears that a cross section of this priced block of people seems to have lost the direction into mainline politics of the United States of America. Yet, American Government could use the ideals of these individuals. The United State of America could at all professional levels, governmental parastatals, Counties, States or Federally, have needs for such class of people to serve the society and to fill the expert positions. These individuals could take on political appointments, serve as goodwill ambassadors or run and be elected into all spectrum of political offices.
